Post engine conversion
i would like to gain information, if you can, on what's needed if i'd could swap engines into a capri at all i know u done it on an escort just wondered if there is much difference in doing this on a capri. Also would the zetec engine be a better engine than a 2 litre pinto for instance or vice versa.

To zetec most rwd fords you need the following:

Engine mounts (best to buy a chassis mount kit, not that expensive)
A thermostat replacement water rail, or chop a hole in your bulkhead for clearance of original zetec thermostat
new sump, and pick up pipe
modified exhaust downpipe or ideally a 4 branch maniflod
Fuel injection tank or swirl pot and necessary fuel lines
flywheel and clutch should all fit a normal type 9 i think

That covers the biggest things.

Zetec is loads better than a pinto it has more power as standard is lighter, easy and cheap to make extra power
Top tip a 1.8 head on a 2.0 bottom end has higher compression, but make sure you use the 2.0 cams! or you will lose power. 1.8 head on a 2.0 with exhaust airfilter should be about 140bhp if not a tad more.
Hope this helps.
